Sofia Koval, 14, was charged as an adult with manslaughter in the beating death of her grandmother, but she was sentenced as a juvenile. As long as she doesn’t reoffend, she’ll be done with criminal penalties in less than seven years. But if she does, she could be looking at 15 years in prison.
