A 20-year-old woman driving on Sunrise Boulevard in Plantation was shot at multiple times Saturday night, causing injury to the 5-year-old with her in the car.
The incident happened at the 6900 block of Sunrise Boulevard, near the Bell at Plantation Apartments at 10:15 p.m.
Plantation police said the child in the car was grazed by a bullet and transported to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. As of Sunday afternoon, police did not release the condition of the mother. The area was closed for several hours following the incident but has since reopened to traffic.
