Four Sharks Named SSC Players of the Week

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference announced the Players of the Week for the week of September 18 – 24, on Monday afternoon. Nova Southeastern Sharks student-athletes Madison Cook (Volleyball), Nadia Lindner (Volleyball), Bella Scott (Women’s Cross Country), and Adrien Zambaux (Men’s Cross Country) earned honors following their performances this past week.    

Lindner takes Offensive Player of the Week, the third of her career. Lindner led the Sharks to conference wins over Palm Beach Atlantic and Embry-Riddle this past week. In a 3-2 win at PBA, the Canadian put up a match-high 19 kills on 49 attempts for a .245 hitting percentage. Lindner followed with a match-high 14 kills on 40 attempts and three errors for a .275 hitting percentage as NSU swept Embry-Riddle. She also gave the Sharks 14 digs, six blocks, three aces, and three assists across the two victories.

Cook is awarded the fifth Setter of the Week honor of her career following Nova Southeastern’s conference wins over Palm Beach Atlantic and Embry-Riddle. The Oviedo, Florida native recorded a game-high 45 assists in a 3-2 victory at PBA. She then posted a game-high 40 assists as the Sharks swept Embry-Riddle. The graduate student averaged 10.6 assists and 2.1 digs per set while leading the Sharks to a .260 team-hitting percentage over the two matches. The weekly award is the fifth of her career.

Scott earned her first career runner of the week honors after finishing third in the 5k with a time of 21:02.8 at the STU College Meet. The sophomore’s performance helped guide the Sharks to a first-place team finish. 

Zambaux was named SSC Runner of the Week for the time in his career after a solid outing at the STU College Meet. The Sarasota native led NSU to a first-place team finish after running 27:06.5 in the 8k, en route to a second-place individual finish.
