Man shot at Fort Lauderdale tire shop during argument, police say

A man is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after he was shot during an argument at a tire store in Fort Lauderdale Friday afternoon, police said.

The shooting happened shortly after 2 p.m. in the 3100 block of West Broward Boulevard, Casey Liening, a spokesperson for Fort Lauderdale Police, said. Investigators believe he and another person were arguing, escalating into shots being fired.

Liening said officers detained the other person the man was arguing with and are investigating.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue immediately began life-saving measures when they arrived at the store and took the man to Broward Health Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, Liening said.
