Young child found wandering with bulldog in Fort Lauderdale neighborhood

Fort Lauderdale Police are trying to find the family or caretakers of a child found wandering with a dog about 8 a.m. Monday.

The girl was with a female French bulldog when she was found at 7:56 a.m. Monday in the 800 block of East Evanston Circle. She is about 5 years old, and police say she has not been able to provide useful information to help identify herself or her family.

She was found wearing a yellow dress and socks but no shoes; her name might be Crystal. The dog is black/brindle and appears to have had puppies recently. The dog is being examined by Animal Control for a chip to provide owner information, a Fort Lauderdale police news release says.

Anyone who recognizes the child should contact 911 immediately.
