Jake Tapper lands interview with Ron DeSantis on CNN

Gov. Ron DeSantis, who derides traditional news organizations as “corporate media,” will sit down for an interview with Jake Tapper on Tuesday, CNN revealed Sunday.

It’s scheduled to air on “The Lead” at 4 p.m. on the Cable News Network.

The move comes as DeSantis continues to trail former President Trump in national and Florida polls for the GOP nomination for president next year.

DeSantis has blamed coverage by the traditional media in part for his campaign’s struggling start.

“Well, I think if you look at the people like the corporate media, who are they going after, who do they not want to be the nominee? They’re going after me,” DeSantis said in an interview on Fox News earlier this month.

But even Fox News, the Rupert Murdoch-owned conservative network long considered one of DeSantis’ safe spaces, has soured a bit on the governor of late because of his lagging poll numbers, according to a report in the New York Times.
