How can you still get a ticket to Messi’s debut? Just buy one at face value

Did you think tickets for Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami debut were completely sold out?

Think again.

Plenty of seats are still available for the July 21 Leagues Cup match against Cruz Azul, contrary to popular belief. And better yet, they are face value too.

Take Ticketmaster, for example.

Tickets can still be purchased for as low as $200 at their face value. Many of those seats are in the newly installed bleachers in the southeast and northeast corners of DRV PNK Stadium, but other tickets are available too in the original stadium bowl starting at $270.

And if you’re feeling extra flush, verified resale tickets can be purchased for $10,000.

The cheapest ticket price listed on SeatGeek as of Thursday evening is $178 (without fees) in the supporter’s section. A front-row single seat in section 112 takes the crown with a $50,000 price tag.

Tickets were initially offered to season ticket holders June 28 and then to deposit holders the next day. All remaining tickets were released to the general public after deposit holders had their chance.

Messi’s second home game — July 25 against Atlanta United — has tickets available too for a cheaper price. Ticketmaster lists general admission supporter’s section tickets at $145, with a front row face value seat selling for $1,000. The cheapest price tag on SeatGeek is currently $171.

The vast ticket availability is a bit surprising given the magnitude of Messi’s signing with Inter Miami. He arrived in Florida earlier this week, with some fans even lining up outside Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport just to try to get a glimpse of the international superstar.

Messi-themed food and drinks have been created and murals are already up in South Florida. Inter Miami is hosting a welcome event that is open to the public on Sunday night.
