The first victim visited her mother’s grave on April 10 near the 7700 block of Bailey Road when a man whom deputies are still searching for broke into her black 2014 Acura, deputies said. Then eight days later, near the same cemetery, a purse was snatched from a black 2021 BMW.

Police said the same suspect broke into a 2015 GMC Yukon on Wednesday near the 7900 block of Parkside Drive in Parkland. The woman told deputies she was watching her son’s tennis match.

In each case, deputies said the man stole the women’s purses with their wallets and other items inside.

He has bought more than $2,500 in gift cards using the victims’ credit cards. A man matching the suspect’s description has been seen on video at several businesses arriving in a light-colored car, wearing hooded sweatshirts to buy multiple gift cards, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities ask anyone with information about the possible suspect to call North Lauderdale Det. Nezar Hamze at 954-720-2265 and Det. Lisa Sokol at 954-720-2261 or Parkland Det. Erick Quigley at 954-753-5050.
