A wrong-way driver caused a crash on Florida’s Turnpike early Friday morning in Boca Raton that killed himself and another motorist, authorities said.
The driver, a 25-year-old man from Weston, was driving south on the inside shoulder and lane of the northbound section of the Turnpike when he hit a vehicle headed in the correct direction, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash took place at 1:58 a.m.
The northbound driver was a 43-year-old man from West Palm Beach.

FHP has not released the identities of either driver.
