Stoneman Douglas shooting trial jury selection resumes without ‘mistrial’

By the end of Tuesday, attorneys and the judge were talking about the possibility of the defense asking for a “mistrial.” Technically, it’s premature to declare a ‘mistrial’ before the completion of jury selection, but regardless of semantics, the effect would have been the same — the first two days of jury selection would have been scrapped and everything would start over.
