With the omicron wave all but over, the state reported just 2,942 new coronavirus cases, the first daily report under 3,000 since Dec. 12. The 7-day average for new cases was 3,655 on Friday, a nearly 90% decline over just one month, according to data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control.
