According to county manatee protection zone records, much of that area allows boats to travel up to 30 mph from June 1 through Sept. 30 and up to 25 mph for the rest of the year, with an “idle speed, no-wake channel” year-round just south and north of George Bush Boulevard. If the FWC adopts the city’s request, it would extend that requirement all the way south to Atlantic Avenue.
