Weekend preview: Hard Rock’s double DAER and an unmerry Christmas tree in Delray Beach

South Florida vinyl evangelist Mikey Ramirez will throw a grand-opening party on Saturday for his newer, larger Technique Records, located across the street from his old spot on Miami’s Upper East Side. The new location is a partnership with Adam Gersten, owner of Gramps bar, who will operate Wish You Were Gear, a mini shop inside of Technique specializing in synthesizers and electronic instruments, new and used gear, and accessories aimed at working musicians. Ramirez is best known in Broward as the guy who gave Fort Lauderdale its beloved Radio-Active Records. The opening celebration at Technique will be 5-10 p.m. Saturday and include DJs, giveaways, happy-hour drinks and Big G’s tropical pizza truck. Technique Records is at 880 NE 79th St., Miami.
