Florida Senate won’t disqualify Gov. Ron DeSantis attorney in Scott Israel case; proceedings start today

Gov. Ron DeSantis will get to have his chosen attorney argue his case for upholding the suspension of Broward Sheriff Scott Israel when the Florida Senate hears arguments starting Monday. Israel’s attorney objected to senators hearing new evidence and having one-on-one meetings with senators. Israel attorney Benedict Kuehne also said DeSantis attorney George Levesque had a conflict and should be removed. (Amy Beth Bennett / South Florida Sun Sentinel)
