Nearly 500 rental homes proposed for Sistrunk Boulevard neighborhood

A housing project will be breaking ground in northwest Fort Lauderdale that city leaders call a “game changer.” It will be called the Adderly, with 455 apartments. The project is named for Julian Edwin “Cannonball” Adderley, who was a musician best known for his 1966 soul jazz single “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy.” Adderly died in 1975.
