Active shooter scare at Town Center mall: What we know a day later

The robbery at the Zales Outlet Store in Sawgrass was described in a Sunrise police arrest warrant: Panicked shoppers ran, frightened by what they thought was gunfire about 5 p.m. Sunrise police found the remains of firecrackers and a smoke bomb. A Rolex worth $11,400 was gone. A man tried on the watch, texted an accomplice and as the fireworks went off, he ran with the stolen Rolex toward the sound of explosives as other people fled the noise, police said.
