Hurricane Dorian moves east of Daytona Beach as it heads toward North Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas

The storm was generating top winds of 105 miles per hour, putting it at Category 2 strength, and it was expected to maintain that force through much of the day. It is heading northwest at 8 mph, threatened a potential landfall in northeastern Georgia or the Carolinas. These regions lie inside the western edge of the hurricane’s cone of uncertainty, the possible locations of the storm’s center.
