Sharks Welcome Danielle Daniel as Associate AD for Internal Operations and Business Services

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nova Southeastern Director of Athletics Michael Mominey today announced Danielle Daniel as the new Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations and Business Services. Serving most recently as an Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator at Florida Atlantic University, Daniel brings a wealth of knowledge in internal operations, sport administration and business experience attained across more than 15 years in athletics administration.

“I am extremely excited to welcome Danielle to the Shark family,” said Mominey. “Without question, her experience, background and pedigree matches the role and responsibilities of this vital position. From the timing to the fit, this couldn’t be any more perfect of a match for her and NSU.”

Coming from Boca Raton, Daniel has touched nearly every facet of administration in intercollegiate athletics during an extensive tenure at FAU, serving two years as associate athletics director after three additional assistant athletics director roles that spanned administration, compliance and business. Daniel started with the Owls as the Director of Event Management and Facilities in 2003.

“I am honored and excited to join Nova Southeastern University and to be a part of such a highly competitive and nationally recognized athletic program on and off the field,” Daniel said. “I am thankful to Mike Mominey for this opportunity and look forward to building relationships with the entire NSU community.”

In her latest role as FAU’s Associate AD for Internal Operations/SWA and Deputy Title IX Coordinator, Daniel had direct oversight of five sport programs, while also supervising operations for human resources, strength and conditioning, sports medicine and equipment.

The previous two years, Daniel held the title of Assistant AD for Administration and was responsible for personnel administration and human resources, while also providing direct sport oversight for five programs. From October 2007-August 2015, Daniel was a mainstay in the FAU athletic business office as the athletic department’s most integral utility staff member. For the first three years, she worked with the business office where relationships with coaches and campus administrations were built, while she managed the daily financial operation and budget preparation and control within the department. Those efforts garnered Daniel her first Assistant AD title in October 2010. She continued to focus her day-to-day efforts in the business office until April 2013 when she was tasked with helping to strengthen the efforts of the compliance office in the areas of initial eligibility and admissions.

In August 2013, Daniel was elevated to serve as the Interim Associate AD for Business and later returned to her role as Assistant AD for Compliance and Administration – with the growth of the department, she became the Assistant AD for Administration in August 2015.

Daniel initially made her move to Boca Raton and FAU on the sport program side of athletics administration, joining the Owls’ women’s basketball staff as an administrative assistant from 1999-2000. Before returning to FAU, she added her master’s degree in Sport and Athletic Administration at Lynn University, while also working as a member of the Fighting Knights coaching staff that produced the program’s first NCAA Softball Regional Tournament appearance.

Moving to South Florida from Evansville, Indiana, Daniel earned her undergraduate degree in Teaching from the University of Southern Indiana in 1998, where she was a softball player for the Screaming Eagles during the same USI playing days as current Nova Southeastern women’s basketball coach LeAnn Freeland-Curry.
