Today, 50,000 GEMS are on the road, according to a recent story in the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Keith Simon, vice president at Polaris Commercial North America, said in an email that the company could not quantify how many of the shuttles have been sold in the U.S. “for competitive reasons,” adding, “We’ve built more than 50,000 but we can’t be sure how many are on the road today.”
