Clad in dark clothing, face covered in a bandana, wearing gloves and toting a backpack, an armed robber held up a bank in Fort Lauderdale Wednesday morning.
It happened shortly before 8 a.m. at the BB&T Bank branch at 6400 N. Federal Highway.
The FBI released security surveillance images of the robber in the hopes of turning up leads in the case.
The robber — who may have had an accomplice — went into the bank, “displayed a weapon and demanded money from a bank employee,” the agency said in a news release.
No one was hurt and the FBI declined to indicate how much money was taken.
Investigators ask anyone with information about the robbery or those involved to call the agency at 754-703-2000 or contact Broward County Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-8477 or online at browardcrimestoppers.org.
