Man, 84, dies as his pickup truck hits tree in Sunrise

A man died Wednesday after his pickup truck crashed into a tree, Sunrise police said.

The 84-year-old driver of a Dodge Ram slammed into a tree just before noon near Flamingo Road and Northwest Eighth Street, north of West Broward Boulevard, said Officer Justin Yarborough, a spokesman for the Sunrise Police Department.

No other vehicles were involved in the fatal crash and the cause is under investigation, he said.
