Are you kinda vegan or vegetarian? The Little Beet opens first Florida restaurant in Aventura

It’s been five years since the Little Beet debuted in New York City, eventually peppering Manhattan with five eateries. Now the restaurant is rolling into Aventura Mall with a grand opening on April 1.

This will be the first Florida location for the fast-casual chain known for its plant-inspired (but not exclusively vegan or vegetarian) fare.

Aside from the Little Beets in NYC, there are New York locations on Long Island and in White Plains as well as Arlington, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

“Aventura will be No. 10 for us, so we’re excited to reach that milestone,” says CEO Becky Mulligan. “We really celebrate vegetables. We’re not just another salad place. Mixed greens are just about as close to a salad as we get.”

So what’s the food like?

Throughout the chain, two of the most popular items on the menu have turned out to be chef-made bowls.

The Yuzu Poke Bowl has raw salmon poke, brown rice, chipotle slaw, golden beets, kale, avocado, sesame seeds, yuzu vinaigrette and pickled ginger for $12.90

The other favorite is the Brussel Hustle Bowl with chicken, shaved brussels sprouts, Pecorino cheese, cranberry, avocado white bean spread, salsa verde, pickled onion and super seeds over field greens for $9.95.

One of the kitchen’s special ingredients to add as a topping is tumeric almonds, which the culinary team chose not only for the spicy taste, but for the alleged benefits in reducing inflammation.
