
A pedestrian was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a crash with an SUV flattened a bus stop in Hollywood early Friday morning.
The crash occurred shortly before 6 a.m. in the 900 block of North Federal Highway, according to Chai Kauffman, a spokesperson for the Hollywood Fire Rescue department. First responders took the pedestrian to the hospital as a Level 1 trauma alert, which is reserved for the most critical injuries. The driver was hospitalized as a Level 2 trauma alert, which refers to potentially life-threatening injuries but a more stable condition.
At the site of the crash, first responders surrounded a crushed SUV with caution tape. Debris littered the road.
Fire Rescue has not provided further information about the cause of the crash.
