More than 40 Cuban migrants taken into custody after multiple landings on Florida coast

The U.S. Border Patrol reported on Saturday that it had apprehended 41 Cuban migrants after multiple boat landings along the Florida coast during the day.

Saturday morning, authorities said, nine migrants were taken into custody in Jupiter Island, just north of Palm Beach County, after arriving in a ramshackle rowboat.

Then, Saturday night, the Border Patrol’s chief agent, Walter N. Slosar, tweeted that 32 people had been taken into federal custody after multiple landings in the Keys.

Slosar, who credited the joint efforts of Border Patrol, Customs and local law enforcement agencies in the apprehensions, said investigations are ongoing.
