The woman charged with felony manslaughter in the death of her fiance’s son was pointing a loaded gun and laughing moments before it went off and killed the teen, an arrest warrant released Wednesday says.
Francy Marcos, 24, of Miami Gardens, turned herself into the Broward Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday — nearly a month after police said she unintentionally shot the boy inside of their home in Pembroke Pines on June 11. The boy is named only by initials in court records, but friends identified him as 15-year-old Achilles Lopez.

Marcos, Lopez, Lopez’s best friend and Lopez’s two younger siblings were about to leave the home in the Coconut Reef community to go to a restaurant when Marcos grabbed a gun in a holster left by the front door, the arrest warrant says.

She first pointed the holstered gun at an unidentified male sitting on the couch, the warrant says. The male, whose name is redacted in the warrant, said he feared for his life and told Marcos not to play with the gun.

Marcos, laughing, then took the gun out of the holster and again pointed it at the male and the family dogs, the warrant says. He told her a second time not to play with the weapon and walked out of the house, “hiding behind the partially closed front door using it as a shield in fear for his safety.”
While walking to the car to wait outside, the male heard a gunshot and ran back inside, the warrant says. He saw Lopez holding his chest and bleeding before Lopez collapsed.
Marcos called 911, the warrant says, and told an operator she accidentally shot the boy in his chest.

“It was me. I pointed it … I pointed it … it was me by mistake,” she said, according to the warrant. “I took out the freaking gun.”
A man could be heard in the background of the 911 call, pleading with the dying boy.
“You killed him,” the man said, according to the warrant. “Francy, you killed him … why? Francy you killed him with the gun … No please … wake up!”
Lopez was pronounced dead at Memorial Regional Hospital about 30 minutes after police arrived at the home where Marcos lived with the family, the warrant says.
Marcos admitted to officers that she pointed the gun at the boy and her family dogs. She said she didn’t realize the gun was loaded “when she pulled the trigger,” according to the warrant.

She was standing two to three feet away from the boy when she shot him near the front door. The other person whom Marcos pointed the gun at decided not to pursue charges against her, according to the warrant.
Marcos was released from the Broward Main Jail after posting a $15,000 bond, court records say. Information about her attorney was not available Wednesday night.
