Brunch, anyone? Check out these South Florida feasts for $50 or less

On a weekend morning with sunny skies above, there’s nothing like a savory, relaxing restaurant brunch to get the day going.

Whether you prefer comfort food like French toast or a seafood buffet with unlimited chilled options, South Florida restaurants offer brunch menus where creativity, assortment and playfulness play a starring role. And the final bill won’t break the bank: The restaurants below all have brunches for $50 or less, whether you choose the buffet or a selection of a la carte items.

These eateries are not part of major chains and have menus specifically dedicated to brunch. And most offer the quintessential brunchy drink: mimosas, many unlimited, to get your leisurely weekend started with a buzzy boost.

PALM BEACH COUNTY

This restaurant updates its brunch menu online each week; a recent menu included Steak & Egg Burrito ($26) and French Toast ($16). Brunch cocktail specials highlight the “Manmosa,” made of Stiegl grapefruit Radler, a fruity beer, and Bluecoat Gin, served in a beer glass ($12). For dessert, try the brunchy Buttermilk Biscuit Bread Pudding ($14).

How fun, Sunday Bingo Brunch offers musical bingo with a deejay and prizes, along with a free mimosa bottle for the women. BBQ Brisket Egg Sandwich and Nashville Hot Chicken French Toast go for $16. Brunchgoer Louis Torelli, posting in the Sun Sentinel’s 193,000-member Facebook group, “Let’s Eat, South Florida,” wrote: “Not only was the food excellent but the service despite being insanely busy was fantastic! … We also got to play ’80s Bingo. Honestly we didn’t care what was in our cards, being ’80s kids, we were just loving the music!”

This historic house in downtown Delray Beach is right off bustling Atlantic Avenue and it’s a South Florida must-do to sit outside under the trees and enjoy a meal. Try the Starving Artist B.L.T for $10 or the “Everything” Avocado Toast for $12. According to “Let’s Eat, South Florida” food lover Robin Berman: “My best friend since 1975 was passing through town, so of course we went to Dada for brunch because we both love it … [it’s] always consistent in quality.”

This Argentine restaurant has four locations in Miami-Dade County and just opened its first Palm Beach County site in the historic Falcon House. Among the brunch offerings: Bacon Pancakes ($17), Chorizo Scramble ($16) and French Toast Argentino ($18). Unlimited bloody mary cocktails, Cinzano Prosecco, sangria and mimosas are $25.

Amid the crowds strolling Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach, find Park Tavern, with its indoor and outdoor tables that provide an oasis away from the hordes. Try the Shrimp & Grits for $18 or the Prime Rib Hash for $21. According to Jacob Dylan, a patron who posted in “Let’s Eat, South Florida”: “The breakfast sandwich is incredible. Potatoes came out great. And I love me some bottomless mimosas.”

BROWARD COUNTY

For those who love to share, The House has weekend brunch boards for a family-style meal for two to eight people, with platters of pancakes, eggs, sausages, sliders and croissants ($29.50 per person). Bottomless mimosas for two hours are $21. You can also order an individual dish such as grilled chicken Caesar salad ($22) or an Angus burger ($24).

Seafood lovers will rejoice in the abundant fish and shellfish options at this canalfront restaurant off the Stranahan River. There are fish choices like mahi mahi ($34) and swordfish ($35), but also lobster salad rolls ($34) and local ceviche ($22). Steak and eggs and avocado toast will please the non-seafood eaters. Two hours of bottomless mimosas, bellinis or bloody marys are $26. If you own a boat, you can park at a Boatyard slip and reserve a table for up to six people.

Besides the restaurant’s lengthy list of platters, pitas, salads and Greek specialties, the brunch menu adds in options such as a Gyro Omelet ($14) and Kefte (lamb and beef patties) and Eggs ($16). The eBLT Toast, consisting of grilled challah topped with egg, lettuce, tomato, bacon and tzatziki sauce ($14) is another creative combo.

Two eggs with sausage and potatoes and toast go for $14.50. There are also Lemon Ricotta Berry French Toast, waffles, shakshuka, avocado toast and burgers. Bottomless brunch drinks range in price from $24.95 to $27.50. They offer some fun shots and cocktails; after a night on the town, try a “Fort Laudy Painkiller,” made with rum, orange, pineapple, nutmeg and piña colada mix ($13).

The $50 buffet includes ham and roast beef, scrambled eggs, sausage, sushi, salads, waffles, omelets and desserts. You can order individual dishes too, such as the Blue Crab Benedict ($25) and Buttermilk Fried Chicken ($24). There are also sandwiches, soups and salads. Two-hour bottomless mimosas go for $30.
