Q. My husband and I are 83. We are in line for a vaccine. However, four years ago, due to a car accident, my spleen and a kidney were removed and because of that, I have a compromised immune system. The information I’ve read and heard is as follows: If one has a compromised or weakened immune system, one should not get the vaccine. This has created a dilemma; we most certainly want to get vaccinated as soon as we can but given my situation, what am I advised to do? Since we’ve been in quarantine since March 10, not leaving the house for any reason, the potential for being able to resume some minor semblance of normalcy is so tempting.” — Gloria McCluskey, Pembroke Pines
