Three robbery suspects chased and captured in Fort Lauderdale, police say

Three people have been arrested after a failed armed robbery and a car chase in Fort Lauderdale, police said.

It started just before 6 p.m. Friday in the parking lot of the Sunshine Cathedral in the 1400 block of Southwest Ninth Street, investigators said.

Mike Michaelidis told WSVN-Ch.7 he had just gotten out of his BMW when a man in a red hoodie jacket started following him.

“He’s yelling, ‘Give me your keys! Give me your money!’” said Michaelidis. “I turned around, I saw his gun already drawn, he was cocking his gun, and I just booked.”
