What you need to know about Tortuga 2019: Getting there, phone charging, lineup

Tortuga Music Festival 2019 is expected to draw 30,000 country-music fans per day to Fort Lauderdale Beach Park noon-10 p.m. Friday-Sunday, April 12-14, to see a long list of acts led by headliners Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean and Thomas Rhett. Here’s the latest news on how to navigate Tortuga, including information on tickets, transportation, the daily music schedule, what you can bring, what you can’t.

Tickets

Single-day tickets cost $135 per day (plus $27 fee), $239 for a three-day pass (plus $34.50 fee). Three-day VIP and Super VIP passes and the upscale Captains Cabanas are sold out. Kids 6 and younger get in free. The box office is at DC Alexander Park, 505 S. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd., across A1A from the festival site. Box office hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday, April 11, and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday-Sunday, April 12-14. Visit TortugaMusicFestival.com.

Transportation

Fort Lauderdale beach is undergoing a major remodel in the area just north of the festival site, which will close Las Olas Boulevard to vehicles between Seabreeze Boulevard and A1A, at the base of the bridge. This work has added a new five-story, 650-space parking garage at the corner of Las Olas and Seabreeze, but eliminated a large lot on the opposite corner, and there is no parking specifically dedicated for the Tortuga Music Festival.

Organizers urge visitors to use the Water Taxi, which is running boats 11 a.m.-11 p.m. each day from three locations: the Riverside Hotel (620 E. Las Olas Blvd.), the GalleryOne DoubleTree Suites (2670 E. Sunrise Blvd., near the Galleria Mall) and the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina (1881 SE 17th St., Fort Lauderdale). Drop-off is across from the festival entrance at the International Swimming Hall of Fame, 501 Seabreeze Blvd. The trip between each stop and the festival site is expected to take 30 minutes. Water Taxi single-day passes cost $12 in advance, $15 day of show; a three-day pass costs $30 in advance, $40 day of show. For more information, go to WaterTaxi.com.

Ride-share services also have drop-off and pickup at the International Swimming Hall of Fame, 501 Seabreeze Blvd.
