Another sweltering weekend is in store for South Florida, forecasters say.
A heat advisory is in effect for all of South Florida until 6 p.m. Sunday. “Feels-like” temperatures between 105 and 110 degrees F are possible across the region, according to the National Weather Service Miami. Palm Beach County will see the highest temperatures of the three counties, with temperatures reaching 109 degrees.
Actual high temperatures will be in the low to mid 90s, but the dewpoint, or the measure of moisture in the air, will make the hot weather particularly uncomfortable and dangerous, creating those feels-like temperatures that surpass 105 degrees.
“High temps will be in the low to mid 90s which combined with dewpoints in the mid to upper 70s, will lead to continued heat indices reaching hazardous levels during the day,” the National Weather Service Miami wrote in a Saturday morning forecast.
Some thunderstorms are expected in inland areas Saturday afternoon and evening, though a plume of Saharan dust spreading over the area around the same time may suppress storms slightly.
