With all due respect to anything else happening this weekend, is there anything else happening this weekend besides the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers’ parade? If you were one of the 200,000 people who showed up last year along A1A on Fort Lauderdale beach, you probably thought it couldn’t get any better (except for the rain part). We shall see. All indications are that the Stanley Cup parade will return to the Fort Lauderdale oceanfront on Sunday. Stay up to date at SunSentinel.com/panthers.
THURSDAY
Sly look back: The Rhythm Foundation will host a celebration of Juneteenth on Thursday with a free screening of the Oscar-winning Questlove documentary “Summer of Soul” at the Miami Beach Bandshell. The film follows the Harlem Cultural Festival, a remarkable six-week musical event in the summer of 1969, and includes forgotten footage of Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Mahalia Jackson, B.B. King, The 5th Dimension and, with poignant timeliness, the great Sly & the Family Stone. The film will be shown at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. Admission is free with RSVP at MiamiBeachBandshell.com.
Think Whitney: This is the final weekend of performances for Slow Burn Theatre Co.’s “The Bodyguard — The Musical” at the Broward Center in Fort Lauderdale. Starring “American Idol” finalist Ta-Tynisa Wilson as Rachel Marron, the show includes timeless Whitney Houston hits such as “So Emotional,” “One Moment in Time,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” and, of course, “I Will Always Love You.” Weekend performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 1 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets start at $85.55. Visit BrowardCenter.org.

Two for the road: Puerto Rican synth-pop duo Buscabulla, known offstage as Luis Alfredo Del Valle and Raquel Berrios, have been garnering heady praise for their new album, “Se Amaba Así,” from the likes of Vogue and the Los Angeles Times. Windy City mayhem: Iconic Tony-winning Jazz Age musical “Chicago” continues its run, part of the Broadway in Miami series, at the Arsht Center. Weekend performances will be at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, 1 and 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets start at $40.95 at ArshtCenter.org.
Green acres: In a Sun Sentinel review of the touring production of the Tony-winning musical comedy “Shucked” at Fort Lauderdale’s Broward Center, critic Rod Stafford Hagwood called it “a corn-ucopia of comedy that’ll have you smiling from ear to ear.” This was both a compliment — and a warning. If this kind of punny business hurts your ear, well, move along. But if such light-hearted fare is what you’re looking for right about now, saddle up. Final performances of “Shucked” will be at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday, 1 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets start at $53.40 at BrowardCenter.org.
