Police are investigating a shooting in Davie that shut down a stretch of road Tuesday afternoon.
Davie Police told the public to avoid South University Drive between Griffin Road and Nova Drive in a post on X shortly before 3 p.m. They said they are not actively looking for anyone, but did not say if anyone has been arrested.
The shooting happened in the area of multiple schools: Aveda Institute South Florida, a beauty school, and Know-It-All Preparatory School and Tutoring Center.
Police did not provide further details on who was shot or how many people were involved.
Officers put the schools in the area on lockdown, according to archived police radio transmissions.
