
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference announced its weekly award winners for the week of January 19-25, and two Sharks were highlighted. Ross Reeves and Emilia Ronningdal were named Men’s Basketball Player of the Week and Women’s Swimmer of the Week, respectively.
Hailing from Orem, Utah, Reeves powered the Sharks to a 2-0 week with key conference wins over Saint Leo University and No. 4 Palm Beach Atlantic University. On the road against Saint Leo, Reeves opened the week with 17 points, four assists and four rebounds in just 22 minutes. Later in the week, when the Sharks hosted the nationally ranked Sailfish, he scored 33 points to go along with six assists and seven rebounds. This is Reeves’ fifth SSC weekly honor of the season.
Ronningdal, a native of Hässleholm, Sweden, put together a strong showing on the Sharks’ Senior Day against Barry University, No. 14 Florida Southern and the University of Miami. She won the 100-yard breaststroke by more than a second with a time of 1:03.21, then added another individual victory in the 200-yard individual medley (2:02.36). This is Ronningdal’s first weekly honor of the season and the second of her career.

Both Reeves and Ronningdal will be back in action, as the men’s basketball team will host Eckerd College on January 28 at 7:30 PM, while the swim team will prepare for the Sunshine State Conference Championships in Ocala February 11-15.
