What does President Trump’s planned birthday parade remind you of?
It’s a show of force to the world, like so many dictators before him. How much will it cost American taxpayers in light of all the budget cuts being so adamantly touted by DOGE?
This is the grossest display of egoism I have ever seen from a president. It absolutely sickens me, as does his braggadocio (“the biggest, best, most beautiful,” ad nauseam).
What also sickens me is his degradation of people, from ordinary folks to national heroes to world leaders. What respectable president does that?
We know that respect is not a word Trump knows very well. Like most bullies, he misguidedly thinks that bullying garners respect. It does not. It only makes the bully more despicable.
His “Make America Great Again” slogan is doubly sickening as America always was great. It needed no one to chant a slogan to convince people we were not.
Even worse is his exhortation that women have more children while cutting all available safety net programs that actually support those children. Let’s not forget the women who could lose voting rights because they took their husband’s names and now their ID does not match their birth certificates.
Trump’s dystopian vision of America on the campaign trail never used to be true. But we’re definitely losing ground in the esteem of the world, not to mention over half the population in the United States. He’s repressing free speech, freedom of the press, separation of church and state, and ignores the rule of law. How can anyone believe what spews from his mouth?

Not America anymore
Are you kidding me?
An estimated $45 million parade for the most despised President in history? And I have no choice in the matter to say no, even though he’s spending our money?
We’re not a monarchy, though Trump thinks he’s a king. Is the king of England going to lend him his gold carriage for this one-sided occasion?
I’m appalled that our government is letting this happen when the Department of Government Extermination (DOGE) is firing federal workers and doing away with agencies that made our country strong.
The wimps in the Republican Congress and Senate allowed this to happen.
This is not the United States of America anymore. It belongs to Trump alone! He’s turning himself into a king and we are the laughingstock of the world. Except I’m not laughing.

Trump’s true mission
I am sure that your letter writers, such as Carl Schneider, call President Trump a tyrant because he vowed to deport criminal illegal aliens who have been charged with crimes in their countries.
Where were the federal judges (and your letter writers) when President Joe Biden let in millions of illegal aliens, which led to the murders of Jocelyn Nungaray, an 11-year-old girl in Houston; Laken Riley a Georgia student whose head was bashed in by a rock; and Rachel Morin, a mother of five in Maryland who was raped and murdered, all by illegals.
The people suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome are unable to understand the reality that Trump’s mission is to make Americans safe again.
Try to get over your ideology and live in reality.
