A pedestrian died after being struck by a Tri-Rail commuter train in Oakland Park early Sunday.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Commercial Boulevard and Powerline Road.

Rescue workers arrived at the scene at about 6:17 a.m. and pronounced the victim, who has not been identified, dead, a Broward Sheriff’s Office spokesman said by email.
Oakland Park Fire Rescue also responded to the scene, which has been turned over to Broward Sheriff’s Office crime scene and homicide detectives for further investigation, the spokesman said.
Authorities closed Commercial Boulevard during the initial investigation but it has since reopened.
