Distracted driving is being blamed for a crash involving a Davie police car.
It happened Friday night when several Davie police officers were investigating a suspicious vehicle that was stopped on Griffin Road.
There were several Davie police cars at the scene with their red and blue emergency lights flashing when one of the patrol cars was slammed into from behind, Sgt. Mark Leone said in a statement.
“Luckily the officer was not in the vehicle and the other driver was not injured,” he said. “By her own admission, the driver said that she was distracted while using an app on her mobile phone.”
There was no word on the outcome of the investigation of the suspicious vehicle.
