A water main break has been repaired and a boil-water advisory has been lifted in Fort Lauderdale, city officials said.
The City and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection agreed, on Thursday, that water in the Victoria Park neighborhood was safe to drink after a water main broke on Tuesday.
The 6-inch water main at Northeast Sixth Court and Sunrise Key Boulevard was repaired by about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, but bacteriological survey results had to be checked before officials could determine the water was safe to drink.
New 6-inch water mains, water service connections and fire hydrants are being installed to serve 1,000 properties in Victoria Park, city spokesman Matt Little said.
City officials remind residents that they can sign up for Code Red alerts online at fortlauderdale.gov or, for any further questions, the 24-Hour Neighbor Call Center can be contacted at 954-828-8000.
