Delays were light but building on southbound Interstate 95 through Fort Lauderdale because of a pre-dawn crash.
The crash, just south of the exit to Griffin Road (Exit 23), was reported shortly before 4:30 a.m. and was blocking at least two right lanes.
A sedan left the travel lanes and landed on its side on the grassy shoulder off the highway.
Emergency response crews remain at the scene.
Initial delays were light because of pre-dawn volume, but are expected to build as the traffic flow increases.
As alternates, drivers can use Florida’s Turnpike, University Drive or State Road 7 to the west of I-95 or Federal Highway (U.S. 1) to the east.
