The death of an 86-year-old Pembroke Pines woman has resulted in the arrest of a 57-year-old man, police said.
Officers answered a 911 call about 11:18 p.m. Wednesday from a home in the Pines Village community. They found the man waiting at the home and an injured woman in a bedroom, officials said.
The woman was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment but she died early Thursday, police said.
Investigators have not released the names of the woman or the man, citing Marsy’s law, which allows police to withhold the names of crime victims and their families.
Broward County Jail records show Robert Scott Ormiston, 57, was arrested in Pembroke Pines Thursday and was charged with murder.
Police have not confirmed if his arrest was connected to the death of the woman.
The investigation is ongoing, officials said.
