Man arrested following death of woman, 86, in Pembroke Pines, cops say

The death of an 86-year-old Pembroke Pines woman has resulted in the arrest of a 57-year-old man, police said.

Officers answered a 911 call about 11:18 p.m. Wednesday from a home in the Pines Village community. They found the man waiting at the home and an injured woman in a bedroom, officials said.

The woman was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment but she died early Thursday, police said.

Investigators have not released the names of the woman or the man citing Florida’s Amendment Six, also known as Marsy’s law, which is designed to protect crime victims and their families from potential harm.
