Now this was a courtship.
A Palm Beach County attorney orchestrated a fake trial, complete with a presiding judge, clerks and a jury, so that he could propose marriage to his girlfriend, also a lawyer, in a courtroom.
And of course, there’s a video of the Feb. 7 engagement. It’s a tear-jerker.
According to media reports, assistant state attorney Brandon Dinetz had ensured that his fiancee, Jennifer Lettman, was in the courtroom gallery to watch his opening statements for what he had said would be a DUI case.
It didn’t take long for Lettman to realize what was actually about to happen. As the jury, consisting entirely of her family and friends, filed in, she began to cry, The Guardian reported.
“It was the toughest secret I’ve ever kept,” Dinetz told South Florida Sun Sentinel news partner WPEC-Ch. 12. “The worst part was not being able to tell Jen each exciting development.”
