Stay sharp. Physical activity is one of the most important things you can do for your health. Regular physical activity can help keep your thinking, learning, and judgment skills sharp as you age. It can also reduce your risk of depression and may help you sleep better. Research has shown that doing aerobic or a mix of aerobic and muscle-strengthening activities 3 to 5 times a week for 30 to 60 minutes can give you these mental health benefits. Improve sleep. Studies conducted in the community reveal an association between short sleep duration and excess body weight. Recent research has indicated that depressive symptoms may decrease once sleep apnea has been effectively treated and sufficient sleep restored. Kierberg shifted to the No. 2 singles draw this season and flourished. New Assistant Coach to Join Shark Volleyball Staff

By wlchrist Dan King The NSU athletic department is pleased to announce the addition of assistant coach Dan King to the Sharks’ volleyball staff. King comes to Fort Lauderdale after four seasons as an assistant coach at Southeastern Oklahoma State. Prior to that, he gained experience within the Sunshine State Conference as an assistant at Saint Leo, also for four years. He helped lead the Lions to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, in 2006, and followed that up with an appearance in each season after. Sharks’ Baseball Senior Named to the Division II CoSIDA Academic All-District 2013-14 Team

By wlchrist Brooks Fleming Brooks Fleming (Sr., Palm City, Fla.), a member of the Nova Southeastern University baseball team, has just been named to the Division II CoSIDA Academic All-District 2013-14 Team. Fleming is the first NSU baseball player since 2008 to be honored with this selection. On the field, Fleming has a team-leading 38 RBI, a .517 slugging percentage and is tied for a team-high four home runs.
