NCAA Championships


FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – For the fourth time in five seasons, the Nova Southeastern University men’s and women’s track and field teams are sending student-athletes to the NCAA Division II National Championship hosted by Johnson C. Smith University at the Irwin Belk Complex in Charlotte, N.C. as announced by the NCAA on Tuesday afternoon.

Seniors Eric Moate and Amira Bendrif will represent the Sharks at the national championship from Friday, May 25 to Saturday May 26.

“I’m super excited for Eric and Amira qualifying for the nationals,” said a proud head coach, Bryan Hagopian. “They both battled injuries last season which affected them from performing at their best. They’ve worked hard this season to come back and perform at their full potential. Their hard work has paid off and I can’t wait to see them compete against the nation’s best.”

Moate qualifies for the national championship for the second straight season as the product of Lakeland, Fla. will race in the 200m dash. Moate will race in the prelims in Friday afternoon for a chance to race in the final on Saturday. This season, Moate won the Peach Belt …read more
